Sold!

Before we left for our Bali holiday in October, the situation in our neighbourhood was bordering on ridiculous. Any, and usually all, nights of the week we were thumped to sleep by the gentle sounds of the concert speakers in the garage directly across from our bedroom. Nice.

So we escaped to Bali needing the peace and serenity of that beautiful place more than ever. And we returned with resolve.
The house we're currently in is his place., bought after we went travelling a few years back. I wasn't ready financially and truth to tell, we probably weren't ready emotionally to 'take the next step' back then. Looking back now it was one of the best decisions we've made.

We started looking at houses when we got home. On the net, around the streets, in the paper. It's amazing how much you can do without physically going to the house. Thanks to the likes of Google Earth and Street View, you can find out an incredible amount of info about the house, the neighbourhood and everything in between.
And so it happened that we bought the first house we looked at.

Weird right? We went through the whole process but we did it in our lounge room, rather than walking through 20 different houses. We ended up with something completely different to what we started out wanting but we've ticked all the boxes: it's livable, it's in a great location and there's potential (much) for improvement.

And so now we're 1.5 weeks out from moving in. Our place has boxes strewn from one end of the house to the other, and I really need to make a concerted effort to put things in the boxes over the next week and a half. If anyone has helpful packing tips, advice will be gladly taken at this point.

Even though this will be my first home, I'm really not that excited about it. I guess it just doesn't feel that real. I'm hoping that once we move in then it really will feel like mine, and not that i'm living thanks to someone else. I'll keep you updated on the progress.
